Top general in Puerto Rico says relief effort has shifted from crisis to recovery

Federal troops are leaving Puerto Rico, even as the island still reels from the damage wrought by Hurricane Maria. Three-star Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan has been in charge of the military's response to the disaster. Jeffrey spoke to CBS News correspondent David Begnaud about the ongoing efforts.

Good interview, finally an honest assessment of the crisis and aftermath. Every situation is different and we can always learn and improve on how we deal with a disaster. Sadly Puerto Rico had many systemic issues already, and a cat 5 storm created this overwhelmingly tragedy. Let's move forward to rebuild and learn from this situation.

I’m so sick of hearing about Puerto Rico. Mainland Americans open their hearts and pocket books for many communities in the USA and around the world. But I feel like the PR mayor turned off many of Trump’s supporters from helping and caring. We have moved on to help people who appreciate any help they get and can pull up their own boot straps to help them selves. Most of those PR citizens (yes I know they are Americans) are being evacuated and resettled in sanctuary states. Isn’t that wonderful? Future democrat voters.
