fairfield circuitry the accountant
fancy little jfet squishy thing.

i tried to really use compression as an effect in these little soundbites. the accountant is capable of much tamer sounds and is actually quite versatile.

but.. compression as an effect and not just a toan-polish is a bit underused. so here i'm trying to ride along with the squish, with the spongey feels.
0:00 heavy-ish compression, digging quite hard in the strings.
0:10 same kinda deal, less pad
At 0:17 I try some lighter settings, still pretty rough. Writing this I notice that I never show the 0 setting on the ratio.. oh well.
fingers time at 0:42.

this is actually my bandmates.. i use a philosopher's tone. i can kinda get the same sounds, but this is way more inspiring and out there as an effect.
i actually tried to demo the philosopher's tone and while it does a great job of evening out my playing, it doesn't lend itself well to fancy stuff. the accountant can do both. wow.

no post processing
no other effects

I just want you to know that I make mp3's of these videos and set them as my alarm in the morning. They're beautifully interrupting.

Woow, amazing playing! I've been after a compressor for a long time and I have no idea what to even expect or look for. Why should this one, in your opinion, be chosen over a Keeley, Wampler, Deep Six or some others similarly priced (or cheaper) with more functionality? Have you had a chance to compare?
Thank you!

Lovely playing, great visuals. Far too many pedal demos require the viewer to suffer through rotten, boring faux-blues runs.
