Damn thanks man I had deleted the desktop folder because everything used to keep cluttering up there & I did everything like re installing the drivers & platform tools but turns out it was simply the path missing i.e. the desktop folder I had deleted lol.
Sometimes the simplest things cause the biggest problems.
