Here is the background story:

I was hired to record an 80s loops collection for Image Sounds GmbH and used the soundcheck to play around a bit and figure out these analog electronic drums. I started sharing some of the grooves on Instagram and had the idea of asking some fellow musicians to contribute a little something.

In this video, I use SIMMONS SDS V, SDS VI, Analog Clap Trap, Digital Clap Trap, and a SYNARE.

All this combined with my Sonor SQ2 Vintage Maple and Heavy Maple drums, Remo Emperor Clear Drumheads on the toms (10", 14", 16"), Ambassador coated on the snare (14"), Powerstroke clear on the kick (20").

Recorded and mixed on Ableton Live. The acoustic 80s sound is mainly generated with Soundtoys Lite Plate, Ableton's Drum Buss, Gate and Reverb, and Waves CLA plug-ins. Plus some EQ and compression.
