I have a lot of people who watch my videos that don't have google accounts and refuse to get one. Therefore, they may tell me they like my video on twitter but they can't like it on youtube. So if you do marketing of videos outside of youtube I don't think the like ratio of 10% vs views is really that great to rely on.

Dear YouTube Creator Academy I would like to see a video on Audience Retention and what is a fair %, especially for those making educational content (if 90% of the audience walk in the first ten secs of a video - that's an issue right!?)  .. I would also like to see a video on editing as that is never spoken about ie jump or L/J cuts. Your videos while helpful, seem to spend far to much time on the end result (like views) but rarely talk about how an idea goes, in detail, from a creators head to an upload. One example, how maybe 40 mins of tape may end up as just two mins at youtube.. thanks.

It's hard to know one's audience when you're just starting your channel and trying to find your bearings. It would be great to see a video on successful YTers showing how they made that transition from the very beginning.

Interesting. I heard YouTube doesn't account for likes in it's algorithm so I didn't concern myself. However, understanding that a healthy like:view ratio shows viewer satisfaction let's me find new appreciation for the metric.

I also tend to do the 10% likes : views ratio thing... and I usually have hit this ratio, but in some videos I don't, so I know that I did something not quite good in here :)

Succes fore me is having the necesary money working 10 hours a month. Having debts to banks and credit cards with no property or bank accounts to garnish. Having cash everywhere without being under surveillance. Be free, biking and fun.

On my audience, 99% of those who subscribe to my channel BustaFilms1 are not creators of videos. 70% of those who comment do not even know how to write. Comments are gaps in reasoning. They seem twitter comments.
Google Analytics is a great tool. I shows percentages of men and women by age and country.

The truth is that the most popular videos on YouTube do not bring anything good to mankind. Just show how the mass is identified with the nonsense.
All that I have, as a certainty, is that I make videos on the English language.
