As a Pakistani I second the views of my Father who was a honest bureaucrat of Pakistan, bullied and mutilated in his own country escaping to America to save himself and his family from utter destruction. He used to say that in Pakistan some sections of society are untouchables. First and Foremost the Army then Judiciary then Corrupt Bureaucrats etc. And Civilian Government can challenge this Hierarchy. Just Look What happened to Fatima Jinnah vs General Ayub. 1:45 “Peaceful transition of army power” is incorrect. In 1993 Gen Asif Nawaz did not retire; he was poisoned in office.

Gen Jahangir Karamat also resigned before completing his tenure due to political tensions with Nawaz Sharif in 1998.

2:09 “He was impeached, ” is incorrect. Gen Musharraf was not impeached. He retired from the military in 2007, and resigned from the presidency in 2008.

Dictatorships cannot last . Gen Mirza Aslam baig, Asif Nawaz, Abdul Waheed Kakar, and Jehnagir Karamat were the best Army Generals who not only brought democracy tried to strengthen it, distance the military from politics but also did not start any unnesscary wars with India. I like them as opposed to murders and thiefs known as Ayub, Yahya, Zia, and Musharraf.
