Few updates/corrections: The extruder is the e3d v6. Prusa slicer is based off the program slic3r, not cura.

Great vid! My experiences where similar. The print quality is simply amazing. I’m pretty picky about that and had an Anycubic i3 mega s before, the Prusa is just way above that even with the stock slicing profiles. Costumer service is also amazing. I chatted with them for a few times now and it was always very polite and fast help. I had a bearing go bad after like 150h of printing and I chatted for like 5 mins with them and the replacement parts where on the way. Also it wasn’t just the bearing and linear rod, it was all bearings and linear rods for the x axis (which would be like 50$). Im really happy with my Prusa, would definitely buy it again! The only upgrade I can recommend is an enclosure.

Since you asked 👉 A critique; This video seems like a first take and like you winged it. I think it would have been more professional if you would have done this as a first run, adding verbal notes for your follow up edit, reviewed it, made the corrections/additions, it would have flowed better, had the needed information, less pauses and yeahs and would’ve been more concise. Watching the video before everyone else sees it, allows you to critique yourself. Don’t be afraid to pause your video, get the info you forgot (like measuring) and turn the camera back on, providing the information. Anyway, I hope this helps. I gave you a 👍 I’m here because I am looking to buy a 3D printer for my 16 year old son. Thanks

Thanks man, just getting into the hobby, and this was an extremely clear look at the Prusa! I kinda regret buying it fully constructed, but hey I've always been a fan of taking things apart, and reassembling, haha.

Awesome video I just bought it a few days ago can’t wait for it to arrive. I do want to say one thing though I personally don’t think the time it takes to build is a con more like a pro considering it shows you how to build a 3D printer

Thinking about buying this. I know nothing about 3D printing. I’ll check back for more videos.
Thanks!

Great video, about to order my second MK3 after only 3 weeks. The mk3 makes me look like a pro and prints whatever I ask it to print, simply amazing. If I really want to tinker then I’ll order the voron 2.4 from scratch……a much later project if it happens at all.

first heard about prusa today and haven't been really looking into 3d printing - guess was waiting for a price drop. unfortunately, I'm at work now and can't really watch the whole video (saw ~4.5min), but just wanted to say I appreciate the video and that I hit the subscribe button :). thx for the time and effort to make this.

Saw the Glock replica and "We The People" tattoo, instant sub. 3D printing and firearms are my two biggest hobbies, looking forward to seeing where this channel goes.

i just finished my i3mk3s+ build yesterday. same story, really impressive results with no more than following the manual. but, like you i really felt i had a great leverage from all my ender 3 experience... i wondered if this would be a good route for a beginner. i suspect you felt like i did about the build... it was tedious. they're not joking when they say you put together every single screw and nut. also the provided tools are sufficient but if i didn't have all ball allen drivers i think i would have gone insane. i guess you could call it a good sort of tedious and with all the 3d printed parts it's a pretty inspiring example of what can be mechanically achieved with the very thing you're building. still i've been studying enough and doing enough of this sort of tinkering with my enders that i kinda was wishing i skipped it and bought the assembled version. it really did take me like 12-14 hours and i haven't even started the mmu unit yet. that's worth a couple hundred bucks and a couple weeks imo. frankly it sat that long in the box before i got to it anyways. you make an interesting point about if you're the tinkering or mechanical type, you might not enjoy owning the prusa, but i'd also argue if you are not the mechanical type you might have trouble assembling the machine even with the extremely well done (but not flawless) 225 step, 130+ page instructions. in the end it was probably a fine process and i'm pretty darn excited about this thing and i'm looking forward to playing with the mmu. oh there is one upgrade to do with it - an enclosure. and exhaust/filtering. and for sure the cement paver makes a big difference. i still need to try the foam underneath... cnc kitchen guy is pretty convincing. damn you're still reading this?
