Top 10 Free Digital Collectible Card Games

Digital card games aren’t just a nerd thing anymore; they are actually big right now, similar in a sense to the growth of MOBAs, so much that a lot of you just can’t stand to hear about them anymore. Nevertheless, there’s this new and huge portion of players who are willing to spend big time in digital decks and that’s why everyone seems to be working on card games nowadays – even Bethesda, with the upcoming Elder Scrolls: Legends. Once again, we would like to leave it out there: a Fallout card game would be absolutely rad!

Anyway, here are our current best Digital Collectible Card Games. We’re pretty sure you already know a couple of them, but maybe you’ll be surprised by some of the names.

SolForge's new client has been released, to widespread community annoyance.
Some stuff that people liked has been removed and may never return. That said,
it's still quite playable, if difficult for new players to get competitive at. It's NOT
a simple game, though - here's a comment from a forum thread about this video:

The strategies needed to win at Solforge are different than most
other card games and not readily apparent. Even myself, who played
competitive magic for 8 years +, took me a couple weeks to figure things
out.
I think having an advanced tutorial for the game would be a very good
idea. It could cover things like constructing your deck with enough
underdrops, lane placement, leveling decisions, being the aggro or
defender, not always blocking things, using your life total as a
resource, putting sideboard type cards in your deck, leveling the right
kind of cards for against the deck you're playing against, how to build
deck advantage not just board advantage, not always playing your level 3
so you have more level 3's for next player level, building your deck
with enough creatures and not too many spells. Stuff like that.

Ive played duelyst for a long time, and many other ccgs. the best ccg i have ever played is faeria, easily number 1. Similar board aspect that makes duelyst great, but much more tactical decisions that have noticable effects on the outcome of games.

I'll admit I do think duelyst has the potential to be better than hearthstone, but my problem with Duelyst is that there is less of a competitive player base compared to hearthstone. Where I live there are plenty of in-person tournaments that happen all the time, but duelyst has nothing like that yet. I don't see duelyst catching on in the way hearthstone has, so I am very reluctant to starting putting in the hours needed to get all the necessary cards like I did with hearthstone. This could change, but I don't see it happening soon.

I have played most of these games. Card hunter is very fun and funny with simple combat.
Hex i believe is just a copy of magic because itwas exactly the same when i played it
. Spell weaver this too very generic and another copy of magic with some visuals that are too annoying.
Infinity wars is awesome one of the best out there, i stopped playing it due to difficulty of gaining cards but if you have some money to spend you will love it.
Solforge is one of my favorites and the one i still play expect for Duelyst :P. The level mechanic is fun, you will get frustrated sometimes with level screw but the game is reaaally fun. And its not lacking in depth as said in the video believe me. Now a new client is coming out with many new updates.
Lastly i found Duelyst when a friend told me one night and when i installed it, i was captivated. Really fun and tactical.Deep strategy, very well designed, frequent updates and beautiful music. I think when the new expansion goes live it will be the next big thing.

Not much of a digital card/trading game player, but all I see here I might check out is Card Hunter, Duelyst and Labyrinth. Anything else and I'll just wait for a better graphics card to play tabletop sim, definitely.

I was a kickstarter backer for infinity wars back in 2012 (my god so long ago o_o), and I adored IW when it first came out. It was the first game I played with simultaneous turns, and it blew my mind. Not to mention that the artwork was awesome, and it fully supported trading. I still keep in touch with some friends from IW, and the community was amazing.

Then the first expansion hit, and everything went to shit. They introduced these superpowered cards that made it clear that power creep was going to be a massive problem with these devs. It also introduced a massive amount of bugs to an already buggy system. Many people in the community saw resources going towards wanton spectacle, when troubleshooting should have been a larger priority. The devs slowly stopped communicating with the playerbase, and there was some incident or something with a senior moderator or whatever (I don't know, it was a while ago).

Basically the game died a little more than a year ago, and new features remain half made or perpetually planned. I haven't been back in a long time, but I might check in to see whats been happening.

Well i'm currently playing number 1 and 2, trying Spellweaver recently too and i used to play Card Hunter more often. I don't wanna get into many of them at the same time as i get too much into them i stop playing some other single player games. Layrinth looks cool so i'll try that at least when i can.

I think Mabinogi Duel is fun. The story and character antics are pretty good too.

A superb list of CCG's and TCG's. I'd also like to give a shoutout to "Star Crusade CCG" and "Labyrinth". Awesome early access card games you can find on steam or my channel. Cheers.

I'd replace Solforge with Urban Rivals. Otherwise i'd agree with this list. UR is an old game with simple mechanics but the strategy and pace is still better than most card games. Also a great tool to improve your mental calculations on the fly for those who hate math.

It's not a pure CCG, more of a CCG/Deck Builder hybrid, but War of Omens is quite nice!
