I use it to replace my pdf's, it's handy when you have a restaurant menu in pdf format in several places on the site.

It's very useful feature that should be included in Core. If you are ASE use then you can enable the option Media replacement (it has only essential functionality). With the plugin Paul shown comes with more features. Thanks for sharing

I've been using this plugin for a while and as you said, it's a great time saver.

Only issues I've had is with cache. Each time I ALWAYS forget about caching and mistakenly believe that the plugin has not worked when, of course, it has.

Remember to clear your site cache and browser cache to avoid unwanted confusion.

It will be so useful, as sometimes by accident I use the JPG version of an image, especially when I'm very busy. Then later when I notice the JPG sitting in the media library it would be so awesome to just change it, and all its instances is automatically changed, and that is exactly what this will give me. Thanks for saving hours of frustrating search for where an images has been used in order to replace it. 😉

Nice tool, I can't see a use for it for any of the sites I work with. However, it definitely is a great tool for sites that use the same image in multiple places.

Paul, does short pixel reduce the file size of the image on the server as well? For example, If I upload a 100kb PNG image, will it saved as a 100kb image on the server or will the optimized file size and type be saved?

Also, would it be possible to make a video about fonts? I have seen you create blogs and I also saw your sample blogs in this video and was wondering what fonts, sizes, line heights would be best for a blog.

Ive used this for years. it is a vital plugon but not used often. I deactivate it when not using and reactuvate when needed. This removea any server drag.
