Prosecutors and the Home Secretary have warned against any public commentary or reporting that could prejudice the Southport case.

Criminal proceedings are subject to strict contempt of court laws designed to protect the right of any defendant to a fair trial.

Columnist Peter Hitchens joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

Nothing says democracy like banning people from speaking.

The Government wouldn't be banning anything if this was Caucasian Brits involved.

Regardles our borders are wide open to anyone and everyone. Where is Yvette Cooper? Where is this government? Carry on regardless, allowing eneducated unqualified doctors and engineers to flock here every single day. No documents, no vetting, just complete and utter incompetence.

Questions to the government and police regarding their actions, has no bearing at all on the trial itself. They are making themselves unanswerable to the people.

We are knee-deep in horror. The atrocity unleashed by Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper has thrown unimaginable sadness across England. WHO will save us?

What is it about this Southport trial that is so precarious and fragile?

I was stunned at the direction given to MPs at PMs QT. I watched it live and was of the opinion this man has no business chairing parliament anymore. There are questions which need to be answered considering the political prisoners they are now holding with regards to the establishment shutting down our right to protest about legitimate concerns. This is another legitimate concern.

hoyle is there to make politicians behave within the house of commons, he is not there to restrain MPs on what they want to debate or say under parliamentry privilege, he has acted beyond his powers and should be immediately sacked, he is gagging parliament to protect the government.

From the government, to the speaker of the House, to the governor of Belmarsh prison, we have people in our institutions who are making up the rules to suit their own political agenda, we have an out of control dictatorship running this country and the people, as always, will suffer . If Peter thinks a fair trial is paramount, does he think a PM proclaiming all tweeters as criminals, before they went to court, jgave them a fair hearing ?

I think he is out of order for telling them not to ask questions regarding Southport. Obviously they are not going to ask questions that would jeopardise the trial. All the public want to know is WHEN DID THEY KNOW AND WHEN IS HE GOING TO RELEASE THE POLITICAL PRISONERS

What!!? So our MPs aren’t allowed to ask questions in Parliament to find out what’s going on? But Starmer was allowed to speak at length about his fictional “far right thugs” to prejudice their cases going through the courts. 2 tier keir.

In his career starmer has completely subverted the cps the police to suit his agenda

The Liebour Party should buy Hoyle a superhero costume. He has yet again come to Starmers rescue, his bias is exposed, and he needs to step down. Why was not the aftermath of Southport protected by sub-judice. Both Starmer, Cooper, and the Home Office commented on sentencing and alledged activities that were yet to come to court. Stinks to high heaven.

Why do these people get to do this? Why do we let them? After all, they are just a bunch of " temps." Most of whom are woefully under qualified for their jobs, and the rest are just inept. We are and MUST remain a FREE people.

Hoyle is protecting starmer as he knows something and frightened of being questioned, free Tommy Robinson as he's inocent and a political prisoner
