I do not disagree that they can be dangerous when mixed with other CNS depressant. And I think they are very dangerous in acute withdrawal. They require care in their use. I just dont want to see this class become unavailable to people who do in fact benefit from them. Thanks for your response.

Clonazepam works for my anxiety. Is it healthy long term? Probably not.

The LD50 for Xanax was over 1000mg! Can’t kill you itself.

Benzos are great for occasional emergency situations. Using everyday is not ideal & not very efficient long term

You are ignoring the problem of patients on them & dependant . The only option is tapering slowly as everyone is different. And some patients may need them . The prescription drug monitoring is all well & good ( putting aside that medical records are supposed to be private ) but it has lead to an absurd situation where some doctors write & ignore the consequences & other refuse outright to taper & evaluate . Thus there is becoming an obscene no of people who suffer, may die, have died, have huge health risks & you don’t care . It also is propagating a new black market btw .

Clonazepam saved my life.
Cause all anxiety out and I am more actually awake and able to function as was normal.
Doctors often don't even take medications they talk about like GNC guy.
Listen to your patients more.

I tore many tendons and ligaments due to muscle weakness induced by benzodiazepines. I’m mostly bedridden now.

The fight or flight theory is a gross oversimplification. It’s driven by adrenaline. Anxiety has gabaergic, glutamate and various other causes. If it were just fight or flight beta blockers would work exceedingly well..they aren’t super effective in anxiety

I been on benzodiazepines for 10+ years 6mg and I tapered to 2mg the past 2 years and it was hell doing so but I’m glad I got though it and got comfortable at 2mg I can now take 1mg but still get prescribed 2mg I would like one day to completely get off benzodiazepine which is the reason I self tapered to 1mg from 2mg just in case one day some b.s happens like Opiods I would be ahead of the games but I wouldn’t like to give up my benzos just yet so I’ll continue to get my 2mg and just take 1mg . Some days I can get through with just 0.5mg . I’m going to tell you I’m happy I decided to taper from 6mg to 2mg and got to where I am now because I feel way better more clear minded more happy more energized I feel like myself again benzos block a lot of stuff like feelings etc . But it’s the best for uncontrolled anxiety . Too bad it’s becoming like Oxys based on people abusing them and scared doctors . I wish everyone the best .
