Have you ever seen this TINY bee?

When you think about a bee, you might imagine one that has black and yellow stripes and a stinger!

BUT

Not all bees are the same - some look like flies; some look like wasps - some don't even have a stinger at all.

BUT

They are all important because each has their own role to play in this ecosystem.

In this video, we look at native bees - Native bees are very important because they have a preference for native plants.

This is so important! Native bees are so good! And flies can be pollinators too!

Butterflies bees and flies can be pollinators

I will tell you the diffrence between pollination and fertilization

Pollination is when a flower attracts an insect,

the insect then when it reaches the flower so it can feed on nectar pollen sticks to its body.

Now we move onto (fertilization )

The insect then carries the pollen to the stigma of the same flower or other but the same kind of flower 🌼

Like a sunflower's 🌻 pollen cant be in the stigma of a lily 🌼

Then when the pollen reaches the stigma it joins with eggs in the ovary .

Then the flower dies and the ovary grows into a fruit

Please like it took so long 😅

Love native bees! In Brazil we have a lot of native bees, most don't have stingers and it's surprising how many people don't know that there are bees without stingers

Wish you make longer videos. I know you have some on here, but I’d love to see this as a norm

For a while when we lived in a shed we shared the space with a lone carpenter bee. she was super chill. She must have decided not to build her hive there after all because after a month or so I don't remember seeing her anymore.

That was very fascinating. I always love to see what you put under the microscope. Those little details that the eyes cannot see is so interesting to know how they look magnified.😊

I got stung by a tiny bee before. And it was worse than a bumblebee sting. I think I might have been allergic to it but never tested it
