Safe Haven was and still is the scariest short film in the whole VHS series like god that was scary, disturbing, and all round just jaw dropping.

In all honesty, Safe Haven is the best of the entire VHS franchise. It was just too brilliant for words. The Alien Abduction Slumber Party one comes in a close second.

I just re-watched this movie and during Safe Haven I recognized 2 actors from The Raid 2 and was like "What, no way" Looked online and realized that Gareth Evans actually directed that whole sequence. fun fact for you all.

The cult segment.... was fucking bananas. Also, there were a total of 666 comments when I posted this. #Pray4me

These V/H/S movies are fucking awesome. Creepy and well made

I have to admit that Save Haven would have been interesting enough to do a whole movie just based on it. Was one of my favorite horror short-stories I've seen in a long time.

I guess this is a SPOILER but...

The first short from V/H/S 1 that scene in the stairwell was just terrifying when you heard the hotel room door open then see her peeking around the stairs and sweet lord her face.

The brilliance of the V/H/S movies is in the individual stories.  Where it falls apart is in the plot that ties those stories together.  'Oh, there's a dead guy in a chair here. That's weird. I won't think anything of it.' 'These are probably the most horrifying things I've ever seen. But that's ok, I'm just going to act like it's nothing.'  Seriously?

i personally think Safe Haven is a really special piece of cinema. incredibly unique and disturbing, it feels like an entire movie could be made from it, as opposed to the other shorts that i feel clearly lend themselves to being shorts and nothing more

Who else didn't care about the dumb kids who got abducted during the last tape but almost cried when the dog died

1) Veeeery intersting. Didn't think the sex scene was necessary though.
2) Not scary, but still very well done. I personally like the thing the did at the end
3) Cults are fucking scary, this one is even creepy by those standards.
4) The first half was not great, but the second half was extremely intense.

I was very impressed by VHS 2, I thought it was gonna suck or not be as intriguing. But after watching the zombie one I was hooked. I watched it on netflix and after watching it, it took me a bit to recover from what I saw. The cult one was the most unsettling. Until the punchline. lol  But it made me think about all the cameras we come into contact with, I mean my house has two cameras that monitor the house when we're gone and sometimes when we are still home. (it came with the home security alarm package we got) I get a little creeped out when I look at it now 'cause it makes me think it will just set the stage for something creepy to happen to me to be captured on video. lol The ending was alright, like you I was surprised she didn't really react after watching the videos.

Safe Haven was one of the most frightening stories I'd seen in a long time. It was like Heaven's Gate and Jonestown had merged... until the end. The zombie one was extremely well done from start to finish. The 'eye' story made me laugh when he said he wanted a copy of 'that'.

I really liked this one but the weird girl from the first movie is still the creepiest. There was some very good ideas in this movie though the zombie, the Asian cult, and the aliens were awesome. Was it just me? or did anyone else feel really sorry for the puppy in the end?

I liked this one better than the first one. Safe Haven was really, really creepy. And the go-pro zombie was a brilliant idea.
However, Clinical Trials was dumb and had the silliest excuse for a pair of tits ever.
And I did prefer the main story of the first one (the kids in the dead guy''s house) over the two detectives in this one.
Still, a fun horror movie that did it's best to make the found footage formula interesting and clever.
I gave it 7/10
