FHP Pursuit Leads to Shocking Discovery | Jacksonville, Florida

On March 9th, 2023, an FHP trooper was patrolling Interstate 295 when he observed a silver vehicle in the center lane with illegal window tinting. Upon querying the license plate, it was discovered that the vehicle was a rental belonging to Ean Holdings, and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver, Kabreshia Latwanis Caldwell, provided her Alabama driver's license and stated she was traveling to Jacksonville to visit her sister. However, during the encounter, the trooper noticed that Caldwell was visibly nervous and shaking, and she spilled coffee on the passenger seat while fumbling with her phone to locate the rental agreement.

Despite the vehicle's window tint measuring below the legal limit, the trooper requested backup to conduct a K9 free air sniff of the car's exterior due to several indicators of possible illegal activity.

The FHP K9 Unit attempted to have Caldwell step out of the vehicle, but she refused and became increasingly nervous. When the trooper saw her reaching into a bag behind her driver's seat, he began to suspect that she may have a firearm. As a result, Caldwell quickly put the vehicle into drive and fled onto Interstate 295 South. And the troopers initiated a pursuit.

The 4 years she spent on the run looking over her shoulders, she could’ve already served her time and probably paid off most of her fines to all 5 counties even got some charges dismissed with plea deals and been done with that mess. Hopefully even changed her life and started fresh. Now she’s added on some felonies in a different county and this time they’ll probably deny her bond since she’s a flight risk thanks to the last judge who let her go.

She sits in the back of the cop car in cuffs for a bunch of charges because she blew it & was rough on herself by her own actions, not to mention how rough she was on the officers by making them do their job in pursuing her in a high speed chase & how rough she was on other drivers by putting them in danger & her excuse is, "the officer was too rough in the way he spoke", boy that beats it all!!

I keep asking: Why don’t cops place a flat tire strip in front of a stopped car so it can’t drive away? I see case after case where the suspect driver suddenly drives away and the police officer has to run back to his car and try to catch up at high speed, which is dangerous.

Window tint is an officers worst nightmare. There is no telling what might be pointing at them as they approach these vehicles.
