A watcher from Finland here! The book page scraps you were using on the cover spread were in Finnish and I was like wait? Am I seeing my language there? 😂 I always love your reading journal spreads! They give me a lot of inspiration into my own journal ❤ Love from Finland!

Great video! That scene in The Duke and I has always been controversial. I haven’t read it in years and I can’t remember exactly how they handled it in the show but I think it was still problematic. I wanna reread and watch it now 😅 … And recently I read The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer, couldn’t put it down. It’s a good fall/winter portal fantasy read. I think this might be a favorite of the year. ✌🏽+❤

for horror recs: into the drowning deep by mira grant is a thriller that's also somehow a love letter to science, but definitely wouldn't recommend it if you're uncomfortable with deep ocean expeditions, things lurking underwater, etc. i also highly recommend we have always lived in the castle by shirley jackson! i'd go into it without looking up anything in advance, though, since there's a pretty famous twist. really interesting character work. finally, i'd recommend little eve by catriona ward for more amazingly written characters and a gothic atmosphere -- definitely check the trigger warnings beforehand, though i will say that a lot of the true evil happens off-page.

You nailed the issues with Mistborn! I’m a die hard Sanderson fan, but nothing about that series passes the Bechdel test. However, Vin grows an incredible amount in the next two books (that 3rd book!) and you will gain so much more respect for her.

I recommend "Knock Knock, Open Wide" one of the only horror book that really scared me at one point. I really enjoyed it!

I love your spreads, they are so lovely and cozzy to watch. And i totally agree with your opinion about the thing in the Duke and I, i thought that scene was so...wrong and i am sure everyone would be terrified if Daphne's action was done by a man...i feel like she got away so easily with that, it was dissapointing.

I read all of the Bridgerton books this year, and I gave The Duke and I 2.5 stars. The show did have a similar scene to the book, just that Simon wasn't drunk, I believe. Regardless, Daphne is my least favourite Bridgerton because of that scene, but The Duke and I wasn't my least favourite of the series...

First of all, beautiful nails! And as always magical and inspiring spreads 😍 for horror books I would recommend The Troop by Nick Cutter (trigger warning: worms), The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher and The Last House On Needless Street by Catriona Ward🎃

The cover page collage is gorgeous!!! Tbh the Duke and I is the worst Bridgerton books - Romancing Mister Bridgerton is the best one!!!!

I really liked all the spreads you did this time. The cover page is very beautiful as always, and it was fun to see you use so much red for the Cut & Thirst spread.

I've been considering getting into the Mistborn saga but I'm intimidated by the size of the books and how many there are. There's a lot of books set in the same universe and I am a completionist and would love to read all of them but... that's a LOT of pages to read haha.

Hi Hedda!
I think I will also put „Mistborn“ on my TBR.
For Fantasy I always recommend „Sword of Truth“ series by Terry Goodkind. I rarely see it, so I feel like its not that popular… the german version had 16 books, the newer version 11 books, so its a long read!
I really loved it though and the series accompanied me for many years (incl waiting for books to be released). After that many years I felt really sad when the series ended, because I got so attached to the characters…
(The TV Show was really bad… dont look into it)

For spooky I enjoyed „I remember you“ by Yrsa Sigurdadottir, I liked how the storylines came together at the end. And I think it was a really spooky ghost story. It is set on an isolated fjord in Iceland.

"A Night in the Lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny - not a horror book, but DEFINITELY a halloween book. i would even say THE halloween book. told from the perspective of a dog. I can send you a PDF!
