Kendrick Lamar’s latest single, "Not Like Us," only skyrocketed to the top because of heavy label support. But here’s where it gets interesting—on March 22, 2024, Kendrick officially took a shot at Drake. And up until that point, Kendrick’s growth had flatlined, according to Chartmetric.

But after the beef? Kendrick gained over 3 million followers on Instagram and 4 million subscribers on YouTube! 👀 The industry is clearly tired of Drake's decade-long reign and control over music, and Kendrick is using that to his advantage. Is this the beginning of a new era in hip-hop?

Theres so many cases of labels trying to push artist and songs but they never go number 1 crodie. The song was a catchy song that people liked. The whole west coast wasn't gonna let that song fail either. Label or no label the song was contagious right away.
