I finally, 23 years after first hearing this song, came to learn enough about the Jamaican language to know what is meant by 'mass charlie ground'. It means Mr. Charlie's piece of land. "Mass" is short for 'master' and basically means 'Mr.". And 'ground' means a piece of land for cultivation of crops.

I heard this song back in 2004 in a roots mix tape in a van...been looking for it ever since..Thanks to technology, ( Shazam) that helped me identify the song..again in a mixtape in a bus while driving home today...planning to listen to it 10 times today...never knew it's a song done by wailing souls I would have played all their albums just to get this song..A great song..
