I m so glad i came across this video. i have opened walls in my house looking for leak, and when i was giving up looked up to youtube and found this. It was 100% same for my house and it just solved everything. Instead of using saw i just packed it with laminate underlay material. Problem is solved now.

My dad has this issue too. He kept rambling on and on about having insects inside the wall, but the rhythmic noise only happens when a faucet is turned on.
I told him it's the vent pipe, he believes none of it, decides to take a power drill to the wall so he can pump some insecticide into space between drywall ... I don't know what to say.. hahaha

It’s called thermal expansion. When you run water it expands the pvc and it creates a “dripping” sound inside the wall.
