No video will ever do justice to actually how loud their hornline was this year.

Probably the loudest Hornline I’ve ever seen live, either them or Babylon. This Brass line hit you like a ton of bricks

I love that you watched this! I marched in Crown from 2014-2016 on mellophone. 2016 was my ageout season and it was an incredible experience. The music was well written and everyone in the corps was so talented. I love your videos, keep it up! It makes me happy to see you react to a show that is so near and dear to my heart ❤️

This was honestly one of my favorite performances of that entire season. We had just done a full day of camps with hundreds of high school kids, and they all came to watch us that night so that crowd was.... absolutely unbelievable. You could Feel the energy radiating from them! Funnily enough, this was also the rehearsal site where we learned the new ending, but we didn't perform it until the Centerville, OH show a week or so later.
As to why the ending changed, that was the summer of the Pulse shootings in Orlando. The design staff chose to remove the death from the ending and replace it with mercy to try and show solidarity and promote peace. We actually tried really hard to find a way to still kill the bad guy, but make it self defense instead. Unfortunately, we couldn't really find a safe way to get him to fall off the back of the stagecoach XD. (Also, if you watch the finals videos I'm the lady that stops him from shooting Aaron so I guess you could say it's my fault ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

They changed the ending out of respect of the victims in the Orlando night club shooting that year. But this video that we are watching is the old closer.

Courtney, don't sell yourself short. You pick up so much more from the music you are reacting to, than a lot of people would who've never marched with a corps. You may not play an instrument, but you obviously are able to recognize when a passage of music is more intricate than others, and it's obvious when you are hearing something that you enjoy....

You’ve got to watch the finals ending, chills every time

And that's the primary reason why we love your DCI-reaction videos, Courtney. _Because_ you don't know anything about the technical side of this is precisely why we love your reactions so much. If you knew what _we_ know, your reactions would be fundamentally different. We love your reactions because we know they are authentically objective. We make these shows to conjure _feelings, _ _not_ to showoff to each other how well we can synchronize. Our intention is to artfully display a show of unity, and _"unity"_ is what we humans love the _most._

You should hear the warm up brass circle ⭕ when they play the ending of the opener after the tuning sequence.

Thankfully I live in an area where I was able to see that show at least 2-3 times that year. It was so awesome. Love the colorguard at the end.

I remember one of the musical pieces they used was originally done by Star of Indiana in 1993. I’d love for you to check out that show because it is, in my opinion, the most influential show in DCI history.

Phantom Regiment's 2010 show: "Into the Light" is incredible as well

The show is called Relentless. In the beginning you see a man and his father hugging, then the father is shot and killed by the man robbing the stagecoach. His son pursues the killer relentlessly and you can follow the progress as the stagecoach travels from the left sideline, stops in the middle and eventually traveling to the right end zone. The the son sees his father in a hat on the front right sidelines as a ghost, and then he catches up with his father's killer at the stagecoach in the right end zone and you can hear the shot that kills his father's killer. The part where the killer is shot and killed by the son is the old ending.

In the new ending the song reprises Hallelujah and the guard girl comes over and takes the son's gun away just as he is about to shoot dead his father's killer. The compassion of the guard girl stopping the killing represents forgiveness and peace. The killer isn't shot, he's arrested. The ending with the brass is huge as the emotional release brings the audience almost to tears. For me, it wasn't almost.

I got to see this show in person, and got to see them rehearse the morning of their performance as well. Getting to stand literally on the sideline and hear that opener, which is SO beautiful, followed by that MONSTER chord/hit when they turn to face the crowd the first time was a really great experience.

The announcer to all of the fans in the stands is also one of the voices on our local radio station KRMG 102.3 FM. He is always talking about his experiences. As an announcer.
