Great Video! Have owned a Trike for almost four years now and have heard and been told some of the same things. Love your take on those comments. Had to Subscribe. Ride on! 🤙🏼

Great video - thanks for sharing. I rode an Ultra Classics for many years. At age 71, I decided to go to 3 wheels for my own safety.
I love to get my knees in the breeze and I'm now 75 years old and love my 2016 Freewheeler. I don't really give a sh*t what others think about it, at least I can keep riding.

Sandman, my brother, Doc here, and I would like to say thank you for this awesome content. I have been a biker since I was 10 yrs old and got my 1st Honda 90 step thru (my friends who didn't have bikes or mini-bikes all said "OH ya, it looks like a girlie bike, I said...what are you ridin'?") and up until 12 yrs ago I always rode two wheels. In July 2011 I was up and out on a Sunday morning on a call in to work, got to the corner and was in the apex of a left hand turn when a very large black vehicle (to this day I don't know if it was a mid-size S.U.V. or a big sedan like a Chrysler 300, ) came up on the inside of me and smashed me mid bike, drove me 38 yds across the highway and into a ditch and kept on going. They NEVER did catch the asshole who hit me.
I laid in the ditch for almost an hour before an ambulance that somebody had "anonymously " called from a payphone 3 miles away finally showed up (ambo shack was less than 3 minutes away). I spent 9 days in the hospital and 8 weeks incapacitated at home before I was up and around enough to try and go back to work. 5 weeks in, back at work, I had to admit I was unable to go every day and took early retirement ( 1/4 pension and 1 year long term disability). I was 52 yrs old and was basically screwed for the rest of my life. My 67' Harley was killed dead, insurance wrote it of and paid me "book value" ...$7, 800 Canadian....and because there was no suspect, and no arrest, that was the extent of what I got.
Fast forward until now, at 64, I'm considered 75% disabled due to 2 wrecked knees, a wrecked hip, a spine with 3 different areas of major damage, and croakers telling me " you need surgery, but you're too fat, you need to exercise, but don't use your knees or back"...so I lost 84 lbs just by changing what and how I ate, but have gotten to the point in my life now where the rehab time it would take for all those surgeries (which have to be done 1 at a time) is probably longer than I have left on this side of the grass...so a handful of Tylenol, a couple of joints and some anti-inflamatories and I just keep going, except I hadn't been back up on a scoot (cost preventative/prohibitive) on my income) until a buddy bought a Harley CVO in 2020. He raved about it(he's 75 now, and has a bad back) and allowed me to take it out a couple of times (class act from a real brother!) for a few hours and I knew I needed to ride again.I've been putting change away ever since, wheeled and dealed a bit, and it looks like, for the spring of 2023 I'm going to be able to put together a ride to get me into the wind know this has been friggin' long but I have to say, Trikes may NOT be for everybody, but WHAT you ride isn't what makes you a biker, as you so eloquently put it, from moped-to full out big V-twin street beast, it's THAT you ride....riding gives you something nothing else can (except maybe flying...lol) absolute freedom and thank you for pointing all of this out, although, unfortunately, y'all ain't going to change every bodies mind, but maybe, somebody like me might just have heard you and maybe gets that urge...and realizes they can do it....stay safe my brother, keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down...enjoy the twisties and keep the sun on your shoulder and the wind in your from Canada sayin' "Peace Out.

Hey there. I’m 54 and broke my left leg really bad a few years ago. I couldn’t put any weight on it for almost a year. 4 surgeries later and I was in a really dark place. When I did get back on my feet I bought a Tri glide. Joined a club. No one had ever said a negative word to me about riding a trike. I do have the urge to get back on 2 wheels but not sure if I want to tempt fate. Thank you for your service.

Sandman, Retired Jarhead here. Nice looking trike. Been riding over 50 yrs. Until last year it was on two wheelers, last bike was a 2017 Road King. Haven't jumped anywhere near as much as you have but the last one and my knee said "no more". 25 years later its finally bit me in my third pint of contact. I like to ride long distances and after a day on the bike my knee said this this is getting to heavy for you. Dropped it a couple of times. Riding for me is stress relief, too many grandkids thinking I need taken care of and all the normal daily BS. Mostly just wanting to get out and ride. Soothes the soul. My Grandfather was Tabbed and Scrolled, broke his heart when I joined the Corps. He spent most of his time in and retired out of the 101st, did some time with you guys in the 82nd and survived 10 yrs with the 75th. He was one tough old coot. My new ride is a 2022 CVO Tri Glide. As soon I get the ok from the knee quack, as Wilie says "on the road again". Be in you neck of the woods next year. Coming over to ride the Dragon and see some old firends at Lejeune. Semper Fi Retired 0369. Ride Safe

I had a friend who is was 80 years old and strapped his oxygen bottle on his old Honda. Served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. To me that old beat up Honda was the best looking bike I had ever seen with that oxygen bottle tied on it. As for trikes, I have some arthritis in my hip and one day I may have to give up my two wheeler. So just ride and enjoy it while you can.

Love you attitude and your channel. I road motocross when I was younger, and had an accident due to over confidence. I’m blind in my left eye from birth and it never hindered me in anything. Had the accident, (my fault) nobody hurt but me, when I was 30. Am 56 now and want to get back on the road and have been thinking of a trike because that accident 26 years ago still stays with me. All friends ride but no trikes, some say as long as your on the road it’s what matters, some say just don’t ride. This video and your channel are much appreciated, respect. I’ve also had 3 shoulder surgeries in the last year+ so I have a hard time but want to ride again. Still a bit hesitant but your channel is helping me. Thank you. 🤝

Sandman, you epitomize what a "real biker" is. The others sound like snobbish douchebags who give riders a bad rep.
The riding community needs more like your mindset. Ride safe and be happy, my friend.

Nice Man really appreciate it, iam an "cured" Epileptic (ive been born with Epilepsia, took meds for 25 years of my life and didnt have a seizure since i was 4) but i have never learnd to drive a Bicyle nor Motorbike because of my parents fear of getting a seizure on a bike, so iam 41 now and life goes well, so iam thinking of buying a Trike and getting myself a little of that "Freedom" of the open road back :), i love bikes and trikes and always wanted to drive one (and YES even before Sons of Anarchy yadayada...) maybe it finally time to do so

Thanks Sandman for posting this video. I currently have a 2013 Ultra Classic. I have no issues riding solo, but when my wife rides on the back with me, then it takes noticeable effort to balance when coming to a stop, or slow maneuvering. While I am able to do it, it does become tiresome after a longer ride. That is why I have been considering a Freewheeler soon. And let’s not forget the Harley Servi-Car (1932-1973). Absolutely love the Servi-Car for what it was, and that is basically what the Freewheeler is.

You've really inspired me to buy my first trike, but I've always wanted one since my youth, your great knowledge just sealed the deal...thank you🙏😁

I am a 71-year-old disabled veteran. Back, shoulders, knees—you get the picture. If I had to ride a two-wheeled vehicle, I wouldn't be on the road now. Because the only way I can get around is by riding, I refuse to quit, because I cannot ride a two-wheels

Carver is a leaning trike. The rear portion & power train remains stationary while the cabin and its 1-2 tandem passengers lean into the curves. The controls are not that different from a regular motorcycle. It offers safety from the elements, is its own roll cage, which also means you can enjoy the trip without having to wear a helmet. There are gas powered classic edition as well as an all electric series. There are versions for cargo as well. The cargo portion I believe remains upright while the cabin for the riders still leans into curves.

Love your Big Wheel comment!!! I was just telling my friends the other night the same thing, I told them it was a big wheel for big kids.😂 I just upgraded from a 2022 Ultra Limited to a 2023 Road glide 3. dragged knees in Hockenhiem Race Ring for many years when I was a crotch rocket rider, but times change and so does the body and mentality. I'm like you, i've waved at guys riding Groms🤣
