I'm a contractor and this is unacceptable if the door was in the contract it's unprofessional to ask for payment for the job is finished. Heck I'm guessing he didn't even have a contract lol. This happens a lot when people hire the cheapest guy they can find.

He didn't even finish the job before demanding more money.

He likely needed the money right then to fuel his drug addiction. Hopefully some jail time will help him detox and get his priorities straight.

Good on the contractors that are ethical to.come and fix her bathroom it sucked for her ...the money wasn't do and she had thousands of people calling her a deadbeat and siding with the thug trying rob her ...you know he wasn't coming back to finish that's why he took a hissyfit when he couldn't get final payment before he finished
