How to answer 'Why do you want to work here'?

"Why do you want to work here?" can also be asked as "Why [Company name]?". While this sounds like an easy question to answer, most of the interviewees share bad or generic reasons to why they want to work at the company they are interviewing with.

Thank you for the tips! I do have a question - for some companies that I'm especially interested in, I do a case study on. Is it appropriate for a close-ended question such as "why do you want to work here?" to sort of expand into a general discussion about the product/company? Usually if I'm interested in a non-public company, I have a lot of questions I want to ask that cannot be answered online
