Channel Islands National Park - This Place is Incredible! (Vlog - Park #32)

Channel Islands National Park protects five of the eight Channel Islands off the coast of California, in the Pacific Ocean. Although the islands are only about an hour boat ride from the shore, they are relatively undeveloped.

We took the "Island Packers" boat out of Ventura CA and spent the day on Santa Cruz Island, the largest of the islands in the park. Boat ride was almost 2 hours long.

We also had the opportunity to stay on a catamaran owned by two fellow "You Tubers" - Jim and Heather of "Travel Small - Live Big." We were grateful for their warm hospitality over the two evenings.

The Channel Islands are a lesser known NP area but really worth visiting. I stayed for a week on Anacapa Island when I was a kid. Talk about a feeling if remoteness and desolation. But raw beauty of the sea and land coming together. Enjoyed watching you guys explore Santa Cruz Island. I never knew it was that wide in places. Have a good weekend

Hi Randy! This video is pretty old so I doubt you'll see this comment, but I just wanted to thank you for the countless hours of entertainment you provide me during long nights in college (i'm actually a geology major!). Glad you had a great time with Travel Small Live Big. What a nice adventure this was. I have been to Santa Cruz island before for the day as well and it's extremely beautiful there. That's got to be a little scary when you're trying to make the boat on time and you're pretty far on the trail.

Nice seeing your version of this! I saw Heather's awhile ago and it turned out great! That was quite the hike. Glad you were able to get back in time. Interesting that there were no big trees on most of the island - can really make for a hot hike! Awesome adventure as always Randy!
