Master Effects - EQFH PRO / Furman PQ3 Cloned 100%

I've always thought that the best amps and gear came out in the 80's. Sure there were flaws and nuances associated but it all seemed to translate into iconic tones that we all crave to this day.
The Furman PQ3 parametric eq is one of those classic obsolete pieces of gear that was used on countless albums in the 80's but it was Dimebag who made it legendary.
The guys at Master Effects have got hold of an original PQ3 and managed to clone it into a stomp size pedal with all the fidelity and nuances of the original.
I think it's so cool that Dime's legacy lives on and my hat is off to Tim at Master Effects for being so passionate about it!

Boss Katana Presets
To install them on your katana mkii, the easiest way is to drag the downloaded files to your desktop.
Open up the tone studio with your katana connected and go to the top right corner and click the down arrow. Locate your file and it'll bring it into your library where you can drag them across to the katana :)

Two-Notes Torpedo Captor X Presets (Sounds like my 1936v 2x12 & SM57) The preset I use 99% of the time is called - Marshall 4x12 V30

Killer tines brother, your lasting dedication to chasing Dime's tone is inspiring

I talked to him through email last year asking him if he would make me an accurate pq3 with the actual preamp in it. I guess he looked into it after all. This guy is the only builder who seems open to actually listen to requests. And yes that is why Dime ran the pq3 and 4 up front. He said it himself many times he loved gain. Looks like I will be getting one of these pedals now. It will be great to retire my pq6.

You've got some serious sick tones in this video, Lambchopper. Excellent pedal. BTW, awesome Metal Birbs you have there! 😉💯

What's not to love about Dime and all that he brought to the guitar world? Thank you for all you put into making videos showcasing him and his sound. This was a great vid all the way to the end...when ya broke the string. Cheers from Texas! 🤘😁

The EQ's from hell really showcase how much those pq4 / aphex EQ's were so crucial to the " sauce" to Dimes tones. He went that extra mile and tone chased until no stone was left unturned. Very inspiring, I find the best tones come from necessity and using what you have. I also want to say that the L500XL " Bill and Becky lineage versions" are equally as important to the Sauce.

Saw this pedal in the background a few months ago and been super curious what it was ever since. Sweet!!! Those guys just don’t miss. Their products are always top quality.

What a perfect time for your string to break! The very last squeal! Haha rock on and thanks for the review man! 🤘🏻Now I know what you were telling me to hold off on 😉, appreciate the tip. Sounds like this one is still the favorite right?

Bought the Boss MKII head following your raving reviews. No argument from the other Boss on that one. It's quite cool for 'Tallica.
The necessary spending on front end gear for a Dime tone sounds like divorce to me. 🤞
Feckin awesome, sir.

if you wanted to add an aural doubler or mimic pedal to widen the sound I’m assuming you would connect that next to the vulgar pedal into a power ramp into a cabinet. All your videos are amazing and I learned so much. In fact I just got turned down to your videos. I’m gonna start watching all of them your insights are amazingand you save me years of trying to figure out these classic tones merry Christmas and happy new year from the states.

Awesome as always. Really awesome tones with the EQFH-P in the front of the amp. I feel you can get a poor man's version of that by running a metal zone into the front of the amp with the gain set to zero and volume all the way up. People sleep on using a MZ as a boost.

Seeing the Vulgar pedal again reminds me that people forget Randall had a few RG preamp pedals. There is the RG-OD and RG13. The RG13 was neat because it had a 1W power amp as well and a boost. It worked best though plugged into another amps power amp and a better boost in front though. It actually had a clean channel as well. Both are getting harder to find though.
