What is the essence of magic?

Carl Jung takes us on a journey through The Red Book to provide his unique thoughts on this topic. We'll follow him chronologically through multiple personal entries as magic is revealed from within and without.

Jung meets archetypal figures such as an anchorite (desert father), Izdubar (an ancient figure from the east), and a magician (Philemon) on his magical journey...but one thing is for sure about this way and that is that it is not all sparkling and "magical".

Its essence is rather chaotic, dark, and unreasonable.
