I had an LH surge on CD 12 using my premom, my period is 2 days late but I'm not pregnant.

So I felt all the symptoms of ovulation but no egg. The pain, the bloating, the discharge etc. The LH tests on day 14 positive. Can I ovulate and NOT release an egg? I looked and searched and I cant find an answer to this question, thank you so much. I know I dont release because I am not getting pregnant, 5 y and he got tested and he is fine, all good with me too. Can you ovulate, have the LH surge and NOT release an egg? What causes it and how can it be fixed?

Okay I had ovulation test dark last week than the control line this week it looks the same..
