National Reciprocity Is it Happening?

There is a renewed debate over national handgun reciprocity, sparked by Donald Trump's recent statement on the topic. The Armed Attorneys Richard Hayes and Emily Taylor break down what national reciprocity is, how it could standardize concealed carry permits across state lines, and why it’s such a contentious issue. From questions about state sovereignty and public safety to the role of the Full Faith and Credit Clause (Article IV, Section 1 of the Constitution), we examine the legal and constitutional arguments at play. Additionally, we discuss the potential pitfalls and unintended consequences, even for those who support the policy. Whether you’re a Second Amendment advocate or just curious about the legal landscape, this video offers a balanced and insightful look at one of the most debated gun rights issues. Fifty state reciprocity needs to come with a clause that removes magazine limits, which are stupid beyond measure.

Why does something guaranteed by the Constitution need a permission slip?

Case in MA where a NH resident with a CCDW Permit crossed into MA, was stopped and a firearm was found. He was charged under MA Law. The court found it was unconstitutional because Rights don’t stop at a State Line. MA vs. Dean F Donnell.

The Full Faith and Credit Clause was meant to prevent exactly this kind of state-by-state inconsistency! I get the concerns about states’ rights, but the Constitution should guarantee that rights don’t stop at state borders.

It's sad this is even a debate.
THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!

Government permission slips to utilize a RIGHT are unconstitutional infringements.

We should not need a permission slip to carry. The government does not have rights, We the People do.

The first thing they pass a law banning all fees, charges and taxes on all firearm permits, licenses, ammunition and accessories. This would end the thought you can tax a constitutional right out of existence like the leaked memo during the Clinton administration. Poor people need to be protecting themselves too!

Let's just do national constitutional carry and be done with it.

2A reciprocity...
It would be about time.

I should not be forced to purchase a license in any state. We should have "constitutional carry" in all states. No license is in the constitution. 2nd Amendment, period!

Driving is not a right, it is a privilege. Our right to keep and bear arms is a "Right".

I wish someone who could afford to take it to the Supreme Court would sue California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or New York for not recognizing their CWP from their home state on the same grounds that Driver’s Licenses and Marriage Licenses are required to be recognized across state lines. That would be even better than President Trump signing a bill mandating national reciprocity.

Friggin ban all permission extortion fees, call it American carry, constitutional carry whatever but all across the board it should be "allowed "

If my state doesn't require a front license plate, am I required to install one before crossing the state line? Last time I faced a charge like this they were all dismissed because I had TX plates and a TX license, so MO had to respect that. At least that's what my attorney told me, and it worked, but that was 15yrs ago. Then again, my state doesn't require helmets for motorcycle riders, but I'm pretty sure if I crossed the state line I could be charged for not wearing one. I live close to NJ now, so I'm very grateful for this channel getting ahead of this. Let's just hope the case laws that shape this land in our favor.

I have seen/heard that Some of the States on the East Coast have just told everyone that “The 2A is Not recognized here”. How is this possible & allowed to stand uncontested?!

Public Safety is not a concern. The US Supreme Court has already said that means testing compelling State interest is garbage and can't be used

I just traveled to Illinois. I had to separate myself from my defense device before crossing the state line. I know how to be legal but some don’t. They should have to assign a State Trooper to protect you while you visit. Payed for by the Governor.
