Algebra Essentials, Unit Review, Beginner Level, # 15,24,28,30

This example is very typical of the non-calculator section of the GED Math test and, for all it seems so simple, fools a lot of students who jump to conclusions without writing down their work. As Kate always says, there really aren't that many students who are bad at algebra, but there sure are a lot who struggle with secretarial skills! Show your work and simplify before you solve and you'll see that there's one more step than most students notice here!
