I've said this over and over. On a turbo you get better results by rolling onto the throttle rather than "flooring" it. The reason being is the torque range is roughly 1600-4900 rpm. Once you hit 5k and over your power drops significantly. When you floor it and it goes into "passing" gear you instantly hit that max range in power where it starts to drop off. This is why it feels more powerful when you roll into the throttle because you are constantly in it's power ban in rpm's

Thank you for being open about your pros and cons. I'm in the market for a new car and have been interested in the Mazda 3 but have felt like I'm stuck in an echo chamber of positivity, which is nice and all to get excited about it but I'd like to know the full story as well. Will for sure be checking out your other mazda 3 videos, thanks!

Yes these are like cocoons! I have this leather in my CX-5 and Mazda calls it Parchment, but on this sticker it reads White. I found that to be odd but no biggie. It is classy. I’ve owned 5 Mazdas and they have been affordable, fun, and reliable. I agree with your criticisms, honestly. But Mazdas faults are easier for me to reconcile with versus some other brands, mainly CVT’s. Thanks Mike, another thorough review!

This Mazda 3 sedan looks amazing in gray.

Great job with your content as always Mike.

I've been trying to tell all the reviewers on this engine lmao - you NEED to upshift before the power band drops off at ~4200-4500 RPM. It seems early as hell, but the fastest path to 100mph is through pure torque alone. Fastest I've found is surprisingly staying in regular mode, auto hold with no prep on the gas, and from there gas it and shift at 3250, 3500, 3750, 4000, and boom you're there. Sixth gear is either overdrive or jail speeds tbh.

TLDR - Keep this engine between 2250 and 4000 RPM and it's a fucking rocket. Treat the rev range likes it's shrunken, you won't regret it, and the transmission seems much snappier in these ranges anyway

Sedans look so much better than the hatchbacks. Plus no CVT transmission! Reason why I left Honda.

There’s a small cult following for this car online so I’m glad that you vocalized some complaints and issues even if I’m personally part of that cult following.

Good review Mike! One suggestion, pls mention Turbo in the title.

Just after 10:00, you mention that the 'lane keep assist' doesn't seem to work. That's because it's 'traffic jam assist', and only functions below 40 MPH, when following a car on well marked roads. You will see the steering wheel icon turn from white to green when it's active. I find it works great in heavy stop and go traffic.

Wish it had Ventilated Front seats! With the heat how it gets, needs to come standard on Premium Plus models ❄️

I’m gonna be totally honest, I wanted to watch one of your reviews (Civic) and I couldn’t remember your channel name! Love your videos!

Seems like a pretty good feature set for $33K.

every 2 minutes u find something "annoying" on this car. Who need ambient lights, glovebox light and think like that. From your review it's not worth it i understand.. but anyway i receive mine in January and i am happy and love this car. and mine do not have turbo, because i want to think that i am a smart guy....

Does the 2022 also have a torsion beam for rear suspension like 2023? Not a fan of that.

The reason it doesn't have that auto stop and start is because it's a real automatic, not a CVT
