"In the name of his majesty King James I"

Wouldn't it just be King James?

Even after the American revolution the white American British decandants still hunted those poor American Natives very badly indeed but at least, I'm relived that British Colonies Canada offer them secutary there when they move there just like black African people moving there during the American civil war as well

Lmao this movie made it seem like they were super innocent and “we” were devils we obviously did bad things but they were murdering and sacrificing people long before we stepped on this continent neither side was innocent

I just realized that the last wolf was foreshadowing the deaths and near deaths in the movie. It's a nice touch

Noticed how the wolf swarmed Kokum (so I know) but the Chief stopped it from touching him? Nice foreshadow there Disney

0:56 That part was a *STRONG* foreshadowing of Kocoum's fate.

What I like about this scene is that it shows the contrast between powhatan and kocoum. While kocoum is for the more aggressive approach and attack the settlement, thinking that it would be like defeating the massawomecks, powhatan is shown to be more prudent in pointing out that while they knew how to fight their old enemy, the settlers were completely unknown to them and thus they should not just attack and expect to win the same way. It just shows that while kocoum was undoubtedly brave, he leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to judgement and wisdom, which is shown more accurately when he attacked john Smith when he saw him and Pocahontas kissing and powhatan being the elder chief was more capable of judgement and thus be able to listen and see that he has made a mistake as is later shown near the end when Pocahontas stop him from killing john Smith.

Oh Powhatan, if only you knew just how wrong you were.

I'm a Chickasaw decendent myself and the wise elder Kekata here just never ceases to amaze me it amazed me as a kid and even now I'm in awe

I get the metaphor: The smoke wolf represents the unknown and hostility. When it surrounded Kocoum, he immediately became aggressive and wanted to fight these new invaders.
The chief blocked this apparition and immediately suggested a less violent approach.
