Mandatory evacuations in place as new brush fire flares in Los Angeles

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered in the Bell Canyon area of Los Angeles following a pop-up brush fire. NBC News' Jacob Soboroff reports on residents' responses and how dry vegetation combined with hurricane-force winds have created the dangerous conditions they now face.

Santa Ana winds, exceptionally dry conditions, unprecedented spread of wildfires, burden on the water grid for fighting fires from so much demand all at the same time. Wildfires in Maui, hottest temps on record this past year all over the globe, one hundred year storms happening in multiple states. And yet, this is Newsom’s and Bass’s fault? You don’t have to love Newsom, you may even despise him, but he is not the reason this is happening.

I just think people should start helping in any way they can. Just focus on our common humanity, our common identity as Americans.
