FM alignment using a sweep generator. My 1st video critiques are welcome.

How to use a sweep generator and align a FM radio with it.....my way. I show the connections and controls on the EICO 369 and briefly the Wavetek 1080 and Heathkit IG-57A. I then demonstrate how the sweep affects a diode circuit, 10.7 IF transformer and finally a radio's IF string. We adjust the radio's IF string then move on finally to adjusting the detector circuit. Not by any means is this a full explanation, but should get you started if you want to use a consumer grade sweep generator to align an FM radio.

The first one is now behind you ... I learned quite a bit, and I thought your methodical, step-wise approach was easy to follow and very complete. On to the next ...

This video is relatively old now, and I have not seen any of your others but... extremely well done! clear, well-paced explanations. I did have one constructive comment - the segment where you show the schematic and point to things - do a separate take with that flat on a table with a fixed camera above and point/hand wave etc. It would be much easier to follow than pointing to a moving document. I would add that i am now going to view your other stuff even if its for things I did not know i was interested in - i like your explanation style.

Super, please keep them comming. You speak clear and easy to follow, great content and verry educational.
PS. As a recomandation if you can a video on injecting into the antenna for am and fm especially. How to adapt from 50 ohm unbalanced to 240ohm and 300 ohm simetrical. This is for german sets. They want 240ohm fm imput.

Good job! Great explanation for a complex and sometimes not exact science procedure! Good camera work layout of the subject! Looking forward to ur next video! Take Care--Larry

Hello
First off great video. I'm a newbie to the hobby and I've just acquired a eico 369 along with a tektronix 465 with DM 43. My question is where did you find your scope cable for the 369? I'm striking out around every corner trying to find this. I've found the demos n rf with no problem. Also I'd appreciate it if you could share more info on the crystal upgrade.

I see you're using a Tektronix 2246 oscilloscope. Very nice device. I have the same model but mine is having some kind of "noise" in the trace produced by the readout feature especially in low rates (around 2 ms) and XY modes. When readout is turned off, noise disappear. Can you please check yours to be sure mine is defective or not? Thank you

Great vid! Can you do a vid on how you added blanking and frequency out on you Eico sweep generator? Posting the schematic would help. Thanks. John Ocala Fl.

Hello friend!
Greetings from Brazil.
I have a Meguro MSW-7626A Sweep Marker that has a Marker output like your Heatkit and I would like to know what is the purpose of this particular output? And if the 10.7Mhz Mark is also generated in the RF output or only in the Marker output? Thank you very much.

Best tutorial on YT! Yes, I agree, lotsa work! I like the Wavetek, will add to watchlist. Came from Dons channel, sub'd, #20th! :) You kinda sound like Don, related? ~Jack, VEG

Well done video and very informative. Also very helpful tip on getting the Heathkit generator on the correct harmonic. One question that might clear some things up for other viewers... when you move to the S curve alignment, are you still using the detector probe or is this a direct connection?

Josh - I’m still watching, learning and enjoying this video. I wish I had seen it before I published my last video for a shout out. I’ll point your channel out in my next publish. Additional comments to follow. Best, Don

I was intrigued when you put the radio in the circuit, sweeping through it and seeing how simple you made the alignment look. The S curve was equally fascinating. Next time I tackle a FM receiver, I’m going to be in touch if you don’t mind so you can walk me through the process.

You did an amazing job and I appreciate you taking the time to publish it.

BTW - @25:10 left side of screen, is that the TX mounted in an enclosure?
