OK, so where do you put the dangling pompoms at cast-on and cast off? How do you secure these ends? I really dont know how to 'finish' the blanket.

I find the cast off way to tight using this method, is there an alternative?

I keep picking up an extra stitch or 2 every row. Any suggestions? Like I had 50 going across and now I have 51 ?
