Over here, we have now - starting today - to wear these masks when going into the supermarkets.
Half of the people wore them with the white side outside, half with the blue side outside.
Certainly wouldn't hurt to inform people about it.

From what I've herd that the masks have about 3 hour of use time, because the moisture from your breath slowly deteriorate the small fibers in the mask that acts like a net to stop the bacteria/viruses.
Basically its not a single use but rather a 3 hour use that you can divide in multiple uses.

We know how masks work, types of masks, what the three layers do, BFE PFE VFE KF94, ASTM Lv1-3, when and how to wash hands, to DIY alcohol handrub with 70-80% alcohol, to avoid touching public items by DIY little accessories, to clean our home with 1:99 bleach&water, to pour water in U-shape pipe to prevent contaminated gas from entering our home because of air pressure difference etc.
We also unite to make mask covers to hopefully extend the use of masks for less fortunate, resourceless people.
We take the Wuhan pneumonia virus so seriously because of our incompetent gov. This is a lesson learned from SARS in 2003 where 300 lives were lost.

Question: if the blue side is water repellent (hydrophobic) why is it more porous than the white side? The white side seems to be a non porous material which by definition and observation shouldn't allow liquid or particles to pass through. By putting the white side against you face it may be able to be more difficult to breathe. As for putting the blue side against your face you'll notice that the blue side absorbs more moisture because it's more porous (hydrophilic) thus keeping the white side from becoming soaked and keeping its filtering properties. It is also easier to breathe with the blue side against your face. Just a thought and observation.

Got a similar type of mask at work today. All blue on one side and the other is white with blue top and bottom borders. We were told we could spray it with rubbing alcohol and put it in a paper bag overnight to wear the next day. In a week, we would get a new one. We've also been told, we don't need the masks when we're driving. I hope this is correct, because wearing masks when you wear prescription glasses with nose guards constantly make my glasses fog up.

So there is a difference between the colored and white side and not wear it according to the sides of the ear loops even told it looked like we have worn the wrong way with ear loop ends facing out?
