Is the 2020 Nissan Versa the Top Option For $20K or Less?

The Nissan Versa has been a great selling subcompact car for years and a true value with it's under $20k price point. It can start below $15k and still give you a decent amount of features plus be efficient at the same time. Cars in this class usually don't offer much in terms of driving dynamics, space, or features, but this Versa pushes the envelope of what's expected at this price. I try to cover features on the Versa S, Versa SV, and of course this Versa SR trim so you know what to expect with each!

I don't know how you have your camera set up when you're driving the car, but I like it! I watch a lot of car review channels and they're always fixed so it's kind of cool that it moves around with you and you get that wide-angle first person view.

I think overall Nissan did a good job on this car. Especially for the money...Light years ahead of the older one which unfortunately I have driven once or twice. A sunroof and a rear armrest would be nice, but kudos for them including all the safety gear. Like other Nissan’s, my main gripe would be long term reliability.

I really like the clean look of the back end. Since it's production, other than the first generation, I was always a fan of the sedan version of this car. The hatch was completely lost on me after it's re-design. Definitely like the look of this model. Good work, Nolan!

Nissan built this car to a value proposition.
Not great at any one thing, but checks alot of boxes for most people.
Its important to note this is built to a practical and value price, so don't expect a hot rod, but expect great fuel economy and a touch of fun.

I own a 2020 Versa SV and you're right it is a very light car at 2600 lbs. so wind will cause car to move a bit on the high way and other then that its handle okay. Ride could be better but for this price point and class, it is a great value cars. CVT is great too

Great review Nolan. Very detailed as usual :-) Sadly, yet another car we don't get in the UK. We do get a Nissan Micra 5 door hatch, which has a very similar dash board to the Versa. :-)

I like the refresh of the design and the new features that comes with it. I heard a lot of engine power noise during your test drive, but it looks like it was barely moving. How does it perform during a very sudden quick stop? I still wouldn't buy one of these shopping carts. You did an excellent job reviewing Nolan 👍
