When this song first came out, I cried like a baby.

Gaga arrived to the red carpet with that egg, and nobody could see how Gaga looked on the red carpet till she came out of it during this performance. She also claimed to stay inside the egg for over 24 hours lol

Paparazzi from the VMA awards was when she when she really grabbed everyone's attention. Such a unique and phenomenal performance.

I remember listening this song on blast when they finally legalized gay marriage and i was in tears. When I first heard this song live, you could the love in the air. I was by myself dancing and felt like I was in the perfect place in the perfect time. Born This Way is a power anthem and left a deep impact.

So much ENERGY IN THIS PERFORMANCE! The song itself gives off high energy! The costume choice I think represents neutrality. Her costume and the dancers costumes are nude no color. It symbolizes being neutral non biased and accepting of everyone. That’s M.O anyway. Lol thanks for the video! 👏 👏 👏

There are two major elements to the look. First, The horns is a reference to the narrative in the Born This Way music video. In it, she imagined this utopian/dystopian world called G.O.A.T, a Government Owned Alien Territory in space, hence the alien-esque look. To give more context, In this world there were two forces that were born and were constantly in battle - good and evil. She had spent 3-day meditating inside the vessel/egg (her 'rebirth' process) prior to the performance and was born on stage. This is in a way saying that we, as individuals and as a race, can choose to have these moments of rebirth - a process to reexamine our lives and decide if you would go towards good (to spread love) or evil ( to be driven by hatred), but the video asks the question: " how do you protect something so perfect without evil?", this echo the constant battle between the good and evil natures that are within us and how we balance these 2 forces. She also had once said "if you're not casting a shadow, you're not standing in the light.'. The second reference is the latex outfit. Again she used a lot of latex in the BTW video and during this era in her photoshoots and live performances. It is used as a visual reference to the process of birth, or vernix to be precise (the white slime that covers the baby when they are born). It can be interpreted as the thing that protects the baby. To me, it is very poetic to use latex as a material as a fashion choice, as it is, in a way, saying that fashion gives birth to her and protects her.
