For me, the biggest culture shock living in Chelmsford, as a South Londoner, is how compliment and unquestioning many people are here.

Er... excuse me, I grew up in Brentwood in Essex and that was before T.O.W.I.E. and for your information, Chelmsford is The Birthplace of Radio and known locally as The City of Circles, as no matter where you start from, you can nearly always find your way back to somewhere even if you are heading away from someplace. I'm pretty sure that if Southend on Sea is in or on the edge of Essex, then it, after Chelmsford and now Colchester, is not the only city in Essex, but one of the more famous of the three, yet Colchester is the oldest, but getting back to Brentwood, ain't it about time it should be made a city as well?

Essex’s only city? Er, what about Southend-on-Sea. Which is also bigger. Also Brentwood is the home of TOWIE, not Chelmsford. And you can’t even pronounce Baddow correctly 🙄
