Does college choice impact your actuarial career?

The truth is that SOME schools are simply just better at connecting students and employers.
But really, how reputable your school is really doesn't matter that much!
What really matters is what you do BEYOND your education:
--Getting technical skills.
--Passing exams.
--Honing your communication skills.
--Gaining related experience.
However, if you have the choice, I would prioritize going to a school that has a strong actuarial program!
This would mean that it has a strong actuarial presence, an actuarial science club, and lots of opportunities to connect with actuarial employers!
A good place to find these colleges is the SOA's list of universities and colleges with actuarial programs (UCAP), and finding the Centers of Actuarial Excellence (CAE)!
