I love the wordings these companies use like "Active Listening" instead of "Predatory Spying"

They've been gaslighting us for years about the listening, but everybody knew they were lying. Everyone has experienced talking about something verbally and then suddenly seeing ads for it. I hope this becomes a multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit.

I have never in my life clicked on an ad and bought a product. Who are these companies even advertising to?

Microphones listening - Meta is researching if the 3rd party violated their terms of use, i.e. accidentally leaking internal information that shows actual behavior of Meta.

Facebook used to run the camera in the background for audio - they were really upset about the IOS microphone and camera indicators when they first came out. I never saw unattended traffic from my Alexa units years ago but I ended up chucking them in the basement when they put ads on them.

I have definate proof that Alexa listens to everything in your house. I recently had work done on my house. One of the guys was a recent immigrant from India and spoke little English. His co-worker had to translate for him. My Echo Show displayed suggestions for Punjabi music for two weeks.

The fact that anyone believed that this was not happening is astonishing. I demonstrated this to my co workers at a magazine web publisher back in 2017. I was elbow deep in the ad code, header bidding code, tracking pixels, GDPR and analytics code on our website. I could view a product on amazon on my smartphone and within a few days every employee in our office would get remarketing ads for that or similar products. My boss's boss retired in 2018. When we went to a farewell lunch he stood behind me talking to another department head about his plan to travel to china to teach English at a university in beijing for the next six months. My smartphone was in my shirt pocket. When I got back to the office I began to see China travel as banners. When I got home my television YouTube app showed several channels from expat in China creators. To prove my point I began viewing sex toys on amazon and after a week everyone in the office was getting banner ads for BDSM leather and bondage dating sites. When I told my boss I was going to fly to Tahiti as a joke, he got a hotel ad for a resort in Tahiti as I was standing there talking to him in his office.

It’s undeniable—my wife and I were discussing a vacation to Hawaii, and suddenly, Facebook flooded us with ads for Hawaii vacation packages, flight deals, and more. The same thing happens when you mention something like hair loss—you’re immediately bombarded with ads for hair growth treatments. I use an iPhone, and it seems like either WhatsApp, Messenger, or even Apple itself is always listening in or selling our data.

I've lost count of the amount of times my phone has picked up other peoples conversations in the office and I later get a Reddit ad based on exactly what they were talking about.

The “weird coincidences “ stopped almost entirely when I stopped giving meta microphone access.

I've heard so many people report ads popping up related to things they talked about, but never searched

Telling us that devices don't listen to us because people say so when it's definitely happening is gaslighting.

The fact Amazon lied about working with them is very telling. CMG proudly boasted that they were Amazon's *FIRST* Ad partner. (Facebook's 4th, and a google platinum partner for over 14 years)
This tells it all.

Triple fold phones... Finally a way to charge people 3 grand for a phone and lock them into a 5 year contract 😂

Seriously? They're now claiming the phones listening to us is a debunked myth? Amazing gas-lighting.

You know what else would be really easy to hide? Sending keywords to listen for in the phone and then sending back matches from conversations to back offices. "Experts" act like phones haven't already react to audio like "hey google" for years. What I find really concerning is that the day I used some drain cleaner with my phone in the room, I received the only add for drain cleaner I've ever gotten and I didn't say anything while doing it. So I think the phone's are watching, too
