This is definetely one of my favourite songs on Candyrat Records and of all fingerstyle guitarist songs. Sometimes fingerstyle guitarists are incredibly talented, and just have crazy chops and stuff, but they just don't resonate with me. This one does though! I am placed into another place in the world, where there are no walls and cities, somewhere high on a mountain, where I can see the icy clouds, and the occassional raindrops falling on my head, while contemplating about life.
And this is definetely one of the songs that inspires me to not only see how fast I can play and what skills I can do, but what the emotion behind it is. Makes me focus on "What does it evoke?" instead of "Can I play this faster? or "Can I do more things at the same time?"
I think the point of knowing all kinds of techniques in any music style in the end is to use them to serve a song, and to create emotions and places and times that were previously not known of, or even to recreate existing emotions and places and times.

The most talented guitarist I have heard in many, many years. He conveys emotion with his playing that only genius can produce. I respect that he worked hard to get better as a singer, but it is his guitar playing that is beyond good. I hope he remembers that, as his career gets bigger.
