THANK YOU! Finally a simple definition. Everyone else just starts to ramble about it applications. This has been the missing link for me! My bloody calculus textbook doesn't actually have a definition, just tons of ways to find it. Kinda hard for me to learn that when I didn't even know what I was looking for.
