Yes please, more Linux testing! Not just gaming, but DaVinci Resolve, Blender and other professional app benchmarks too

I switched to Linux last year and I would love to see more Linux focused content.

Linux getting the love it deserves makes me happy

It might be worthwhile giving glorious eggroll’s distro, nobara, a look at for the benchmarks. It includes a lot of gaming optimizations and packages preinstalled and even patched which would provide an accurate representation of the latest progress and patches while saving you the time of having to configure everything manually.

Gear Seekers, In regards to the benchmarking under Ubuntu, were you using the stock Linux 5.15 kernel or the new 6.0? Since 12th gen Alderlake CPUs have a big.LITTLE design, thread scheduling is somewhat flawed on kernels before 5.18, as that's when Thread Director support landed. Furthermore, the Futex_WaitV thread waiting and synchronization system call in 5.16 and newer further improves Proton performance by better matching the behavior of Windows. You might also want to make sure Gamemode is being used/running, so the governor is set to performance mode for gaming and clock source is set to TSC.

I'd love to see Linux focused tests that include "creative" workloads like 3D Rendering with Ray Tracing (Blender, Unreal Engine) for stills/animations, and video editing (DaVinci Resolve etc...).

I thought that it was going to be worse for Linux. It seems that their Linux drivers are not so bad.
Now if only their open source drivers were as good as Radeon.

Just curious Nick.. distro? X11 or wayland? It's still pretty much a given I'll be going AMD but I'd like a better understanding before I pull the lever. Thanks for these benchmarks regardless, you're a legend man.

I would like to see this video being done for Arc graphics card. Nevertheless this is a very informative video, especially for people who dual boot windows and Linux

More Linux! Would be interesting to see if there has been any changes over the last year, considering the 560 Nvidia drivers are now available on both platforms.

I wonder if the 4090 performs better on windows for Machine Learning tasks.

Hi there,
just some Questions, since you were using Ubuntu, i guess you were using gnome as DE.
Were you using Wayland or Xorg? I am using KDE Plasma Xorg with kwin disabled on Arch with Nvidia as well.
For Unigine Superposition, I lose like repeatable 8% in Score on Wayland compared to Xorg.
AND running Unigine Superposition through Wine (Wine GE Proton) results in a higher Score than the native OpenGL version as well.
