There had to be sprinklers. Just makes me question why budget cuts and then a massive fire. Hope the items aren't headed for private collections. Lot of questions when there are financial questions.

Maybe the 200 year old museum should of had anti fire methods, sprinklers and guards 24/7

Thanks Charlton, what a shame, I went there a couple of times when I was a kid & lived in Rio. It looks like it’s completely burnt, almost like it was started on purpose. 😢 I doubt they had sprinkles or just a few & if someone put gas around it, it might’ve not made any difference. You have to remember, it’s in Brazil.

South American museums have so many ancient artifacts, and borrowed/lent collections. My first thought was arson, because the fire has engulfed the building. But maybe it was wiring, or lack of extinguishing equipment, or distance of fire crew? Sad it’s all gone. 😞

Damn republic However sad and revolting this is about what happened to the National Musel, we can not give up fighting for Brazil. I am a manarquist and patriot and I have faith that I will still see my country become a great empire again.
The museum was abandoned for a long time by the government. This is a shame for my country. That is why we, conservatives and monarchists, fight for the return of the monarchy in the country. Our royal family is very sad about this, because it was Dom João VI who made the palace when he went to Brazil👑

No one seems to be talking about how much old stuff ISIS is destroying in the middle east

Quite suspicious it’s fully ablaze with no water being sprayed yet... budget cuts hmmm bet they sold off the collection unless they’ve got insurance....

Why do you read what’s right in front of your viewers?

See through their lies. Obviously no one was fighting the fire. And not even any speculation as to how it started.
