It's official! The Socratica Python Kickstarter was a success! Thank you to all of our supporters. Because of you, many more Python videos coming soon!! 💜🦉

How could anyone ever make math and computer science fun and interesting at the same time and on top of that also be educational? (This is a rhetorical question, Socratica has obviously mastered this.)

As I watch these videos I can only imagine what an absolutely wonderful resource Socratica is for someone just getting started with computer programming.

The ultimate #1 python tutorials you'll ever need

I love how straight-forward everything is in these videos! Everything is REALLY clear and REALLY easy to understand (I don't ever need to go back a second time).
Plus the siri-theme is cool. It works without making things dull (which is rare). The jokes are a nice touch.

No need to import math for sqrt just calculate n**0.5. Tks for the video! Excellent content.

I am finding these tutorials surprisingly pleasant to watch. There is something about the way it is presented that really rings home. Hope you'll keep it up!

Wow thank you very much for this. I am taking number theory this summer, and this video helped me conceptually with some of the things I am learning, and also i get to learn a little bit of programming. Thank you!

I'm running Python 3.7.4, 2+ years after the release of this video. You may get "None" for value 2 in v1. And, you may get 'None' for values '2' and '3' in v2 and v3.
I think the reason is the line "max_divisor = math.floor(math.sqrt(n))" sqrt(2) and sqrt(3) are less than '2', so '1' is the result.
Now, the range is 2 to 2-which means the 'for' loop is not entered. As a result, 'None' is returned.
In v3, 3, 5, and 7 return 'None' because the 'for' loop range is '3 to 3'.
There is probably a very simple fix, but I'm new to this. Something quick isn't coming to mind.

When running the speed test of the is_prime() function that is based on the version in the video at 2:12 it took about .5 seconds for 10, 000 and about 45 seconds for 100k trials. I would still say this is decent, but this algorithm can be significantly improved; continue watching Sacratica to find out how!

This goes over stuff I've already learnt, but I kinda wish I'd seen it first here. Very, very thorough. Well thought out explanation, and I especially like the voicing of legit code while it's being written on screen, effectively teaching pseudo coding. Thank you. Really.

Five pseudo-primes have disliked this video. This is an abnormal running of the routine. Program termination imminent.

P.S. Thumbed up for "this is a normal reaction to our videos".
