The lives of over 1.5 million displaced Palestinians are at risk as Israel pushes forward with an imminent ground invasion of Rafah.

Rafah, which sits on Gaza's southernmost point bordering Egypt, has become a refuge for displaced Palestinians who have fled Israeli attacks in Gaza. Israel, however, claims the area is a Hamas stronghold.

Australia has joined other international leaders in condemning the ground offensive, saying: "We are gravely concerned by indications that Israel is planning a ground offensive into Rafah. A military operation into Rafah would be catastrophic".
