Let me show you a quick simple way to send money to other people using the Venmo app.

To get started, open the Venmo app on your phone, and it will bring you to the home page. To send money, click on the "V" in the middle, which is the pay or request button. Next, find or type in the person's name, Venmo username, phone number, or email. If you are with the person you want to send money to, you can use the QR code. Click the QR code button, then click "scan code," and ask the other person to bring up their code on their phone. Scan it with your phone to send them money.

Once you find the person, click on their name and then click "next." If this is the first time you are sending money to this person, Venmo might ask for the last four digits of their phone number as a security check.

Next, type in the amount of money you want to send. In the description field, write something about what the payment is for, then click "pay."

You can change the privacy of the payment by choosing "privacy" on the right above your balance. You can choose public, friends, or private. I’ll keep it to private.

You can also choose where the money will come from. If you have a balance in your Venmo account, it will use that amount. If not, it will use your other payment method, such as a bank account or debit card for free. If you use a credit card, it will charge you a 3% fee.

At the bottom, there is an option that says "turn on for purchases." This is a consumer protection feature that charges a fee to the seller you’re sending money to. It’s a good idea to use this if you’re purchasing something from someone online or in a store.

When you’re ready, hit "pay" at the bottom of the screen, and Venmo will send the payment. The other user will get an alert letting them know they received your payment.
