Thanks TDUK. I live in TURKIYE ( TURKEY ). I Installed the new update but didn't effect my device ( 4 K MAX ) I still was a developer and was able to see DEVELOPER OPTIONS.

This is the normal Android method for enabling developer options. All Android devices allow third party apps to be installed. If Amazon wants to stop the loading of unknown apps they will have to select a different platform other than Android or create their own independently and not based on Android.

Personally I don’t think Amazon will completely block the dev option as all tech has developer options hidden away within the menu (sky boxes) for example. I just reckon they’ll make it less obvious for the ‘non tech savvy’ to find. Thanks for the update TDUK on point as ever!

Developer options are hidden that's all you need to do is hit the about button 7 times and developer option appears back on

Last time this happened it was on my 4K fire stick and I did three updates and it developer options came back, but looks like you said looks like they’re trying to make it hard to side load apps. Glad this is the only fire device that I have that I am not blocking updates on. Thanks again!

Remember everybody: The Nvidia Shield TV is a great option and unlike Amazon (who more or less abandons devices running older versions of Fire OS) Nvidia is still supporting their older boxes.

FYI, when you click CHECK-FOR-UPDATES and it doesn't say it's a "Firmware Update" with a version number printed on the right sidebar, then the "System Components" you are installing are just System-App Updates, so with an app like Total commander you can view apps sorted by a Date/Time in a Descending List, and it will show you what System-Apps just got updated after you did a CHECK-FOR-UPDATES. This problem of "Developers Options" being hidden is most likely due to changes in the update to the "AmazonSettings" system app.

My fire cube is up to date and I still have developer options. I’m not complaining. Thank you for your thorough videos. You do t skip anything. You should be a teacher.

I think this is done to keep the device in warranty for new users who return their fire device soon after purchase Amazon can then move return to pallet batch.
