I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out but i can't stop crying over the moment when the curtain drops revealing the full band, playing musical instruments, which the entire group had spent all 3 movies demonizing like it was lazy music, right as they shouted FREEDOM, to symbolize them freeing themselves and beca from the oppressive idea that the only good music is made without instruments. singing alongside her to live music is a powerful gesture of support and it makes me cry every time i see it

This whole performance is packed full of symbols, the most poignant one being the end of the song. Becca walks alone to the front of the stage singing the final lyrics, “I will not give you up, it’s the one good thing that I’ve got, ” showing that she’ll always have the Bellas behind her, but it’s time for her to go out on her own.
