I love hearing everyone whine just because Johnson won. He's one of my favorite drivers, so it doesn't bother me.

I was yelling at Dale jr to pass jimmie until I remembered I was watching this on youtube a month after it happened.

If Jimmie Johnson never joined this sport Dale Jr would have won a lot more races

Jimmie was just two championships away from tying Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt for the most all time that day.

You begged for no tandem...keep in mind, tandem racing had 60+ lead changes per race...but NASCAR fans them to take the tandem away...and now you got this. And are whining about it.

That was Jimmie Jams second 500 win can he capture his 3rd today?

Yes I did. The 2005 fall LMS race was after the diamond grinding process.

Best plate race ever was when Hendrick took the first two rows in qualifying and ended up finishing the race the same way but on opposite sides... All the multi-channel radio driver-to-driver conversations was a real treat. It was the best race where drivers took the opportunity to form teams during the race and see them defy the physics of aero drag with push drafting. It was refreshing to see a totally new aspect of racing instead of the same old boring Follow-The-Leader much of the fuel run

yeah I def agree with u on that. Only thing that made it bearable was watching the 10 car make history. Tandem was still the new thing when Danica announced coming to NASCAR so I was eager to see her run with my fav cup guys in the 24 & 48. If only they were pushing, that would have completed the dream team event perfectly. I guess I can settle for the Danica Sandwich tho lol

No I totally get were you are coming from, I've been a fan of the sport since the late 1990's and I play all the games, NASCAR 09 for xbox, NR2003, I get what your saying, but what I am trying to say is that if I were to watch a race, I just like there to be a big pack where everybody has to be just that little more focused because if one driver steps out of line the wrong way, then it spells major trouble. Im not saying that tandem doesnt need focus because it does with the way the cars are

Thanks for the additional feedback. I'm gonna study this more. Yes, how could she know if anyone would drop down with her? Played it safe.

Came back to this now since this was JJ Yeley’s most recent top 10 until Atlanta 2023

Also, and I consider myself somewhat an expert on the subject since in race sims, we'd been pushing tandem and triple tandem for ages - Tandem had not yet fully developed. It had only reached the point of it being obvious that 1 driver is not as fast as a team of 2 and that sometimes its ok to sacrifice positions on the track or pit lane.
Anyway, it was becoming like our online race league, everyone on teamspeak open mic, planning our pit stops together, sometimes going back to help sum1.

yes his dad did help make a name for him, racing is in the family blood it is a legacy passed down from ralph earnhardt to dale sr and now dale jr . Nobody knows for sure if dale jr would be in NASCAR if not for his father but this much is true dale jr has had to go through his NASCAR career for the most part on his own and for that and his dad not being there i think he doing pretty good. I have heard Jr say in interviews that he is not his father but his dad did hone a lot of his talent

You're missing the point here. The difference is that, in the past, the field CHOSE to run single file in order to log laps during the middle portion of races. But today, it happened because the aero package on the Gen 6 car makes it extremely difficult to suck up to another car. As a result, the field essentially got STUCK single file, as it was virtually impossible for anyone to even close up on the back bumper of the car in front of them, let alone pass.
