Founded in 1982, the Czech Boys Choir Boni Pueri is one of Europe’s leading ensembles, carrying on the tradition of a choir that has been active in the Metropolitan Chapter of St Vitus in Prague since 1252. The present choir, which has 200 members ranging in age from 4 to 19, has performed more than 4,000 concerts not only in the Czech Republic, but also on tours in Japan, the United States, Canada, South Korea, China, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Monaco, Germany, Poland, Austria, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and the Vatican.
Boni Pueri has appeared alongside numerous distinguished artists (Jose Carreras, Bobby MoFerrin, Thomas Hampson, Karel Gott, Pavel Sporol and others). The choir has made recordings for television and radio and worked with important ensembles and orchestras the world over and released more than 30 CDs.
Boni Pueri also works closely with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2010 the choir participated in monumental performances of Mahler’s 8th' Symphony—the “Symphony of a Thousand”—under the conductor’s baton of Christoph Esohenbaoh (Prague, Hanover, Hamburg). In 2017 the choir accepted an invitation to participate in a several-year music project titled “Czechs Masters in Vienna” and collaborated with the famous Kurpfalzisohes Kammerorohester to perform Johann Stamitz’s Missa solemnis.
The Boni Pueri choir received the 2012 Award of the Czech Choirs Association for its exemplary promotion of Czech culture abroad, in 2015 the choir was given the title of Cultural Ambassador of Europe by the European Federation of Choirs and in 2022 during ceremony in the European Parliament the choir received the same title for the second time as the first choir in history.

Marek Štilec (conductor)
Marek Stilec is a well-known orchestra conductor, who has been the main choirmaster of Boni Pueri since 2019. After studying the violin at Prague Conservatoryin the violin class of Dana Vlaohova, he became a student of conducting at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, where his professors were Oliver Dohnanyi and Leos Svarovsky.
In January 2014 conducted New World Symphony under mentorship of Michael Tilson Thomas. He has attended several masterclasses, inoludingthose ofJaovanSteen in Belfast (Emerging conductors series) Vladimir Kiradijev in Reichenau, Jorma Panula in Weimar, Aohim Holub in Graz and London, Gerd Albrecht in Ahrenshoop, and a Leonid Grin masterclass at the Neeme Jarvi Winter Academy. As a respected Czech conductor, he has signed an 8-album contract with NAXOS to record the complete orchestral works of Zdenek Fibioh with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Marek Stileo made his conducting debut at the age of 18 in a concert broadcast live by Czech Radio.
